Tevez rejects bidding scandal claims

Carlos Tevez's spokesman has described as "impossible" suggestions that a Greek side tried to persuade him to rig a kick-off in a betting scam.

A Greek court is examining claims that Aris Salonika players wanted to pull off the sting during their Europa League match against City last season.

There is no suggestion that either the Argentine striker or his club did anything wrong and his spokesman said: "It is impossible. Carlos has never heard such a thing and no one ever approached him."

Prosecutors have released details of a phone conversation in which Aris midfielder Kostas Mendrinos can be heard suggesting that team-mate Nery Castillo could approach Tevez and ask him to let the Greek team kick off.
