Tevez: I enjoyed playing alongside Martin Palermo more than I did with CrR7 or Rooney

Manchester City star Carlos Tevez has named Martin Palermo as his favourite forward partner, placing the Boca Juniors legend above former Manchester United team-mates Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo. 

Tevez and Palermo played together for Boca at the start of the Argentine international's career, and lifted the Copa Sudamericana in December 2004 before the former West Ham man moved on to Brazilian club Corinthians. 

The pair only shared the pitch for six months, but the 27-year-old forward still places Palermo at the top of a list of illustrious forward players he has played with over his career so far. 

"I can say about Martin that I have never felt so secure with any other player. It didn't happen with Rooney or Cristiano Ronaldo," the player told Ole as he celebrated the inauguration of his new charity in Buenos Aires on Monday afternoon.

"He gave me a confidence that nobody else has given me, this gives you great trust and means a lot... he is a phenomenon, he has his own God watching out for just him. That is why the fans love him so."
