Sylvinho has admitted he would like to stay longer at City than his current one-year deal.

The 35-year-old left back has made only one first team start since signing from Barcelona in the summer but has been impressed by what he has seen. And if the chance presents itself to stay for another, he will not turn down the opportunity to continue passing on his knowledge.

Having played for Arsenal as well as Barca in their all-conquering days, the twice Champions League winner, is impressed by what he sees at City.

“It is an amazing and exciting thing to be at a club that has such ambition. Of course I would like to play football every week but I understand how to handle these things,” said Sylvinho.

santacruz sylvinho is a great person, everybody knows so.

Mark Hughes says about him: “I can see him as a coach when he stops playing. He spends quite a bit of time speaking to guys during training sessions, passing on his experience. He has the personality that lends itself to a coaching role.”
