BackRoberto Mancini has revealed that he would like to sign Cesc Fabregas and Zlatan Ibrahimovic to turn Manchester City into champions.
The City chief lifted the lid on his potential summer spending plans after watching his side secure a place in the Champions League for next season, courtesy of Tuesday's 1-0 win against Tottenham at Eastlands which sealed a top-four finish.
Mancini's immediate sights are on the FA Cup final, while he will no doubt look to try and overhaul third-placed Arsenal before the end of the season to remove the need to qualify for the Champions League group phase.
And, in the longer term the Italian will focus on trying to win the Premier League title and when asked which players he would like to sign to help City achieve that aim, Mancini said: "Cesc Fabregas".
Whether Arsenal would be willing to sell their star man to City after snubbing Barcelona's advances throughout last summer remains to be seen, while Mancini also confirmed that he would like to be reunited with Swedish striker Ibrahimovic, who he worked with in Italy. And the chances of signing him will be greater considering he was sent on loan to AC Milan by Barcelona this season.
"If Zlatan wants to come to City, I would immediately find a place for him," Mancini added.
"Our target at the start of the season was to qualify for the Champions League and reach a big final - so we have managed to do that."
Ibrahimovic is a possible target
