BackMichael Johnson has moved on loan to Leicester City for the 2011/12 season.
The 23-year-old midfielder missed the whole of last season’s campaign through injury and moves to the King Power Stadium in a bid to bolster the Foxes’ promotion push and regain his own match fitness.
Since suffering an abdominal injury in 2008, the popular Academy graduate has featured just twice for the Blues having struggled to re-establish himself in the club’s first choice side, but he made a welcome return to the City picture last season by making a number of appearances for the Elite Development Squad.
Upon breaking on to the first team scene in 2006, Johnson was quickly recognised as the most exciting young talent at the club. Though injury has blighted the early part of his career, the England under-21 international has 45 first team appearances to his name and will play a crucial role for Leicester as the East Midlands club seek to reach the Premier League.
Leicester boss Sven Goran Eriksson said: "His talent should have seen that he became a regular for England, but injuries have prevented that, which is a shame for him.
"However, I am convinced that Michael will be an asset for us this season and will put his injuries behind him.
