BackThe Chilean is a £35million target for Chelsea and Manchester City, but the Italians appear to be in pole position to snap up the winger.
Inter president Massimo Moratti confirmed he has held talks with Udinese over a possible transfer.
He said: "I consider Sanchez to be a very good player.
"It's no mystery that we are talking with Udinese to understand the situation."
Earlier this month, Udinese turned down a £30million offer from an unnamed club for the 22-year-old.
But Moratti believes the value set on Sanchez, who is under contract with the Bianconeri until June 2014, is disproportionate.
He added: "One thing that is certain is that the player still has a lot to prove.
"When Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Ronaldo arrived at Inter they had already achieved a lot in their careers.
"The value for Sanchez is based on players that have won everything and to me this seems an exaggeration of the current market.
"We are monitoring Sanchez but we are also evaluating other players."
Sanchez scored 12 goals in 31 league appareances this season to help Udinese finish fourth in Serie A.
