Abu Dhabi owners growing concerned about club's reputation
The Guardian claims that Manchester City's owners are to review chief executive Garry Cook's position at the club come the close of the campaign.
The Scot has earned a less than enviable reputation during his 20-month tenure at Eastlands, as he is best recognised for a string of highly embarrassing faux pas than for his administrative work.
The latest of these occurred this week at the Mad Hatter Saloon in New York City, where Cook declared to a gathering of the club's supporters that City would reach the League Cup final "not if, but when, we beat [Manchester] United again".
The Sky Blues were dumped out of the competition after Wednesday's 3-1 defeat at Old Trafford, which made further mockery of the CEO's claim that City would soon be "the biggest and best club in the world".
Cook was also heavily criticised for his role in the Roberto Mancini saga late last year, as he flip-flopped repeatedly before eventually revealing that he had been scouting out replacements for Mark Hughes since the summer.
