Silva could have Fernando Torres as a couple of attack

Manchester City are ready to 'break the bank' and bidding record in English football to be done with the services of Liverpool's Spanish striker Fernando Torres says the British press today.

The media in this country following the preseason City on U.S. soil include the coach of the "blues", the Italian Roberto Mancini, has a special interest in Spanish, so that the billionaire owner of the club could make an extra effort to be done with their services.

"Torres is one of the best strikers in Europe and has been playing in the Premiership for several years, but it depends on your situation, your price and if you want to come," said Mancini in the United States, where he indirectly referred to the alleged dissatisfaction of Torres in theLiverpool because the club is being strengthened with new signings.

Mancini said that "so far Liverpool has not made many signings," but insisted that "the main thing is the price and then the player wants to change equipment or not."

Liverpool have Torres valued at 70 million pounds (83.8 million euros or 108 million dollars) and the City already has spent more than that amount -78,000,000 pounds-in the signings of Jerome Boateng, Aleksandar Kolarov , Yaya Toure and David Silva.

The most expensive signing in the history of the Premier was the Brazilian Robinho on the Manchester City paid Real Madrid £ 32.5 million, but the club owned by Sheikh Mansour would have no trouble greatly exceed that figure.

The new coach of Liverpool itself, Hodgson Roy, acknowledged that Torres is "angry" with the club for not stepped up to the next season, after the failure of the previous one, in which the Reds finished in seventh place classified.

In the City, Torres could not play the Champions League next season, but would have secured a salary substantially better than currently perceived in Liverpool after renewing his contract a year ago to follow at Anfield until 2013.

Torres collects annually in Liverpool 5.7 million pounds (6.8 million euros or $ 8.8 million), and the City would have no trouble raising their tab to the 10.4 million pounds (12.4 million or 16 million dollars).

The Spanish international has insisted that money is not their main motivation, but also reiterated that the club needs to sign "four or five" players the highest level to be eligible to win another title next season.
