can Bridge be forced to play?? This is what I've read... there are some antecedents..
ARSENE WENGER believes the FA could force Wayne Bridge to play for England.
The Arsenal boss says football chiefs can ban the left-back from Manchester City matches if he opts out of the World Cup. Ex-Chelsea star Claude Makelele was forced to play in France's Euro 2008 qualifiers despite wanting to retire from internationals.
Wenger, speaking at a celebration for 25 years of Arsenal community work, said: "Legally there are rules to force a player to turn up. The task is to convince him to play."
