AC Milan chief Adriano Galliani stopped short of confirming his club will make a move for Manchester City striker Mario Balotelli, adding the troubled star "needs love" to prosper.

The 20-year-old Italian has been linked with a move away from the Premier League, with a number of reports claiming his is missing Italy, and Galliani feels Balotelli needs solace and comfort, and it's in abundance at San Siro.

"He needs to be loved. Are AC Milan ready for him? There is time, we will see in the future. Love helps everyone," Galliani told the press.

AC Milan clash with local rivals Inter on Saturday, and Galliani was eager to remind his players not to lose touch with the top with Inter trailing by only two points.

"There is some tension as it has been years since both teams were battling for the title," he added.

"I don't think it will be decisive though. The final day of term will be."

Meanwhile, Santos starlet Ganso has been linked with a summer move, but the chief was short and sharp in his reponse.

"Ganso? I cannot say anything," he said.
